Meet Fatmata, she is fierce and is determined to make a positive impact in the Ebola fight. A third year student studying Business Administration at the University of Sierra Leone, she is currently a Supervisor at the 117 Emergency Response Center, ensuring that emergency calls about Ebola lead to action. Fatmata started working at the center as a Call Operator and in months she has been promoted twice. She says that’s the zeal she brings to the job. She’s haunted by the voices of children who call the centre, she often hears their voices and wonders how their stories end. Fatmata says she will make sure her and her team continue to answer calls, their job will not stop until all Ebola patients get a bed, all Ebola dead are buried safely and all callers to the 117 Emergency Response Center are given the right information on how to manage the situation at home and community level until help arrives.
