Ebola Hero: Karim Ansumana

November 22nd, 2014 Posted by Heroes No Comment yet

From: Kono, Tankoro.

Age: 22.

Prior Employment: Primary School Teacher.

What helped you fight Ebola?: The grace of God, prayer and encouragement. I was able to respond to treatment, I ate good food and took my medicine.  The Doctors were always encouraging us.

How does it feel to be a survivor?  I feel happy for being alive, because many people that contract this disease die. Not only simple people, even doctors. My family thought I would die too.

Do you look at life differently? I don’t feel comfortable now. I lost many friends, I lost my job as a teacher. Thank God for life, but Ebola needs to end before I can see things getting better.

What is your dream for the future? I want to be great! Financially, physically, spiritually. Let God upgrade my life.  I want my life to transform so I can live a better life.

What is your vision for Sierra Leone? Let God have mercy on Sierra Leone. If there is something that we have done, let God forgive us. I want us to live in a better Sierra Leone.
